Dance Hall (1929)

Olive Borden Dance Hall

In 1929 Olive starred in the romantic drama Dance Hall. It was directed by Melville Brown. She plays Gracie, a young dance hall girl who falls in love with a dashing pilot. Olive dyed her hair blonde for her role.  The cast includes Arthur Lake, Natalie Joyce (Olive's cousin), and Ralph Emerson. She and Ralph had been good friends since they costarred in The Albany Night Boat. When his wife filed for divorce in 1935 she accused him of having an affair with Olive. Dance Hall was a modest success and her performance got good reviews.
